I am attempting to remove a faulty headlight switch on a 2001 LeSabre and replace it. Does anyone have instructions/advice on removing the dashboard trim panel on which the switchbox is mounted and removing/reinstalling the switchbox?
Thanks! -Jim Last edited by geezerCruiser; 04-01-2008 at 09:18 PM. |

The switchbox is attached to the dash trim panel, which is held on to the dash with 2 snap attachments. If you grab the left edge of the panel and just pull (hard) it will release the left snap, and pivoting it out will release the snap to the right. After that unplug the wire bundle, which will free up the entire trim panel which can be moved to a workbench. The switchbox is removed from the trim panel by removing a small bolt, sliding it out, and replacing it with a new part. Then reattach the wire bundle, snap the trim back into place, and the job is done. Cheers, -Jim |
