Another ABS recall question

Were the dealers supossed to replace the speed sensors or just clean them? My silverado is doing the same thing it did when I took it in the first time a while back and when I checked the invoice for the recall it states the following:
RECALL
INSPECT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR OP V1410 .8 ADD:8 LUG .1
INSPECT & REPLACE ONE OR BOTH WHEEL SPEED SENSORS
OP V1411 .9 ADD:8 LUG .1

but they just cleaned em and it doing the same thing again. From how I'm reading the recall they should've replaced at least one, right?

Re: Another ABS recall question

Read the actual recall bulletin if you still have it, or ask the repairing dealer for the details.

Re: Another ABS recall question

The fix for the recall was to clean the wheel speed sensors which is not the answer and GM does not cover the wheel bearing. The best thing is to replace the front wheel bearing that is bad.Rust builds up in there.I have been doing this and no comebacks.I did a suburban a while back replacing both front wheel bearings and the problem was gone after replacing the front wheel bearings. One wheel speed sensor broke off in the wheel bearing.

Re: Another ABS recall question

Hold the phone...GM replaced the sensor on one side of my 2000 1500 LS and since I had just replaced the entire wheel bearing assembly for the other side I sent the receipt into the Customer Service Dept and they paid for the whole thing!

since you had the recall completed and the failure repeated this should be reported to N.H.T.S.A. as it is well know GM is trying to get out of this cheaply.... the real problem here is low quality metal.......
