Grinding or sort noise in engine area..

1999 Honda Passport EX 3.2L V6 140K Miles

When i start the card from a fresh start after sitting for awhile. It is random when it happens so its not everytime.

The car starts fine, but when it first starts theres a loud scratching or grinding noise coming from inside the engine area. It goes away withen 30secs or so, and if I seem to rev the engine it goes away faster. When it goes away it isn't gradual it is a instant thing, and when it does you hear like a pop like somthing is disengaging.

I swear it almost sounds like the car is still trying to start just not as loud.

Is my starter not disengaging all the way? o_0 or is it somthing more serious inside the engine?

I can't say weather or not it increases in sound weather or not the engine gets higher rpm I want to say yes.
