97 grand trans problem(s)
my 97 GC has a small annoying problem (a few actually). first off, when cold it will slip into "neutral" after going from reverse to drive and wont slip back without feathering the gas. second... when sitting at a stop light it will start to idle real rough like its about to stall, then will smooth out, but when i go to take off i find that it has slipped into "neutral". at one time it only did this when not up to operating temp now its starting to do it more often. and third after driving for an hour or more (especially after driving on the highway) it will stack shift.
i know the guy who bought it new and he always brought it to the dealership for regular maintenance. the transmission has always been serviced at regular intervals. the jeep had 72,000 when i bought it and i had the trans serviced shortly after the problems started (it didnt help the problem(s)). it has 85,000 on it now and is getting worse any insight? thanks in advance EDIT: btw its a 4.0L Laredo w/selectrac

Re: 97 grand trans problem(s)
Check your linkage. If that's not it check your motor mounts. Had a motor mount go out and it would shift because of the twisting motion. Hope that helps.
