Which engine and mileage?

How old is battery?

Have you checked battery terminals and cables?

Check for voltage at starter, check all grounds.

Here is a link for some wiring diagrams:
http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us...rInfoPages.htm

I do not see a 40 amp fuse in the diagram for the Power Distribution Center. If I get a chance I will look at a friends Voyager.

Check the starter relay.

I would double check the cable going to the starter and also the small wire to the starter solenoid. Also the ground cable to engine. There is a short someplace to keep blowing fuses. You could also remove the cable at the starter and see if it still blows fuses if not then the starter has a short. Take loose the Power Distribution Center and look at the underside for corrossion?

I realize you want to get it home as cheaply as possible but I would consider renting a car dolly from U_HAUL or someone and tow it home so you have easy access to working on it.

Did it backfire or anything out of the ordinary when it died??

Hopefully someone will chime in with other possiblity's.

Keep us posted and we'll get you thru this.

Yes that is a strong possibilty, do you use the tilt on the steering colom a lot? Does the fuse blow while in the off position, run position or start position?

Disconnect the steering collom wiring at the base of collom and see if fuse blows.
