Lug Nuts for 13inchers
It was time to get new tires and I couldn't find anyone that sold 12 inch tires anymore. So I decided to go the 13 inch route. Anyways, there has been much discussion on this forum reguarding how to convert to 13 inch tires. I ran into a problem trying to find lug nuts for the 13 inch wheels that were big enough. Well, I asked my friend who works at Discount Tire to see if he could find some at work. I gave him an old one to bring in and told him I needed the 10mm threads and a larger outer diameter. He came back and said they used the last ones they had on a 4 wheeler. It didn't even register until a day later, but I looked up lug nuts for 4 wheelers and low and behold they work. You could problem call around and find an atv shop that has them in stock, but I oreded mine online. I know that Summit has some, but they have been on back order for a while. The nice thing about these is that they still have a 17mm head, too. Heres the link to ones I ordered.
http://www.motosport.com/offroad/pro...Y=&cat0=#rides Cost was 30.99 with shipping. Took 5 days to get them. If you go to this link you can find out which 4 wheelers they fit on in case you want to call an atv shop. Anyways for those of you thinking about moving up an inch in tire, heres what it cost me to do. $35- 4 steel wheels from a 98 Hyandai Accent at the local Pick-n-Pull $31- Lugnuts above $108- 4 155/80/13 from NTB, saved about $40 by having my friend mount and balance them $22- New hubcaps spray painted black from Advance Auto Parts/Schucks. Grand Total- Just under $200 I've only driven on mine about 200 miles, but so far no problems or rubbing. Seems like it handles a little better. I'm very satisfied with mine. Also here a list posted by RossT that he got from the other forum. -------------- It's 114.3 mm across the center. Also happens to be 4.5 inches. Here's a list of possible wheel donors: (But I can't guarantee that all of these will fit a Swift, it's just a list of 4 x 4.5" wheels I saved) Acura Legend 86-91, CL, Vigor Chevy Sprint '85-'87 Datsun/Nissan - most models to '89 Datsun roadster -early Datsun 240SX 89 - 94, 95-up 4 cyl Datsun 200SX - early Dodge Colt, Plymouth Arrow RWD 79 - 92 Dodge/Chrysler/Eagle - most 4 lug 83 - 92 Eagle Summit 86 - 92 Ford Capri 91 - 91 Ford Festiva Ford Mustang II Ford Granada all 4-bolt Geo Metro Honda Accord 90 up except V6 Accord Honda Prelude 92-up Hyundai Accent Base/GL/GS 1995-1999 Hyundai Elantra Sedan/Wagon 1992-up Hyundai Excel 1986-up Hyundai Scoupe (all) 1991-up Hyundai Sonata (all) 1989-up Hyundai Tiburon Base/FX 1997-up Infinity G20 91 - 94 Infinity M30 90 - 92 Mazda 323 86 - 89 Mazda 626 88 - 91 Mazda GLC 81 - 85 Mazda RX-7 GSL 84 - 85 Mazda RX-7 SE 86 - 88 MGA, MGB all 4 bolt (14") Mitsubishi/Eagle Mitsubishi Gallant 83 - 97 Mitsubishi Mirage 88 - 92 Mitsubishi Precis 87 - 94 Nissan/Datsun - most models to 89 Nissan 200SX 80 - 88* Nissan Altima, Stanza 93 - 98 Nissan 240Z*, 260Z, 280Z /ZX*, turbo 70 - 85 Nissan 510 Nissan B210 Plymouth - Arrow 79 - 88 Plymouth - Sapporo 79 - 88 Plymouth-Mitsubishi Conquest (15") SAAB - 900 79 to '87 come in 5.5 x 14, 5.5 x 15, or 6 x 15 * Suzuki Swift 89 - 98 Toyota - most exc. Re: Lug Nuts for 13inchers
I am going to do the same thing to my metro this summer, Danman posted in one of his threads that the correct lug nut part number is:
Gorilla Automotive 41117 He is using them on American Racing rims. The nuts are the buldge type. (can I say that)? Anway I am going to the junk yard to round up a set of 13inch rims from a 96 metro and use the lug nuts listed above. You can find those on the net for about $6.00 for a set of 4. |

Re: Lug Nuts for 13inchers
Summit has those lug nuts for $5.69 for a set of 4.
They work great. And yes, 41117 is the correct number. I'm anxious right now. With DMV I ordered a personalized plate for my Geo. "MPG 42+". It's a kids plate, so I was able to have the actual plus sign as a digit on the plate itself. Pretty cool huh? My Geo gets an average of about 43mpg, so it fits perfectly.

Re: Lug Nuts for 13inchers
Great info guys. I was just giving another option because last two times I had checked Summit they were on backorder. DanMan, I might have to copy you license plate idea. But then again, that will let everyone know why we drive these cars and could possibly deplete the stock of available Metros in case we ever smash ours up to the point of not being fixable.
