Angry Factory cd player

So this has happened a few times before and it just started working again randomly after like 2 days or so, but this time it's been about a week. For some reason at times my cd player will decide it doesn't like certain cds and will spit them back out at me. Well usually when it happens i put it back in and it works fine. This time when i put it back in, it just read "err" and the radio came back on and the cd came out a few seconds later. so i tried again and it did the same thing again. when it happened the last two times (it stopped working before) it somehow fixed itself or something and read the cds just fine again as usual after a couple days. Now it still won't take the cd. it goes in, but comes right back out. is there any kind of quick fix for this until i get a new head unit? or any idea why it's doing this? it worked fine after the last two times but it still won't work and i'm tired of the radio sucking

Re: Factory cd player

I'm finding out my sunfire doesn't like some certain burned Cd's.

I'm getting ready to chuck the stupid cd player for something better.

Re: Factory cd player

If you are using commercially produced CD's and not one that you recorded yourself, I would get a cleaning CD and see if that helps. My CD player had similar symptoms and after using the cleaning CD several times, my CD player is working like new.

Re: Factory cd player

my stock cd player did the EXACT same thing, notice i used the word "did", the only fix is a new cd player, a $70 sony from wal mart has lasted me 3 years without any problems

edit: after thinking about it i rememeber it being way worse when it was cold out

Re: Factory cd player

Mine has always worked fine, every single burnt CD worked fine too, maybe because it is practically new, i took it out a month after i bought the car, and i bought the car brand new, and i replaced it with a JVC unit ever since.

Re: Factory cd player

Reason i grabbed a second J was because parts for them are a dime a dozen. Ecotec motors are for sale all over the place now and i love it.

I test drove a Mazda Speed 6 ( wasn't too impressed for what it was rated) the speed3's are nice but a little over priced for my taste and what you get, and i tested a cobalt SS i had a fat sales lady and my fat friend, so the extra 500 lbs prolled weight down that car quite a bit and made it feel kind of slow.

Re: Factory cd player

haha that could be part of it :P i was first considering keeping mine and eventually doing an engine swap, but i haven't seen any ecotecs around here at all the speed3s are pretty nice, one of my friends has one but he can't drive it to save his life so i suppose i had a bad experience in it. not to mention i hate anything with a hatch
