4.6 Exhaust Question

I have a '94 4.6L 'Bird and I want to be able to hear it. I have changed the wires, plugs, and filter and the she sounds different already. However, I want to hear it, but I also don't want it to sound like every other Mustang or pickup truck on the street. The system down from the cats looks to be stainless, so I am not going to mess with that. In the past, my mind has been set on a pair of Flowmasters, but I think I might do something different. I heard a first gen 350 Camaro the other day and it sounded gorgeous. As it turns out, the owner did not have any mufflers on it, just resonators. I am having a hard time finding information on resonators without also hearing about mufflers. Does anyone know ANYTHING about this topic or someone who might?

Thanks.

Re: 4.6 Exhaust Question

Welcome to the forum beano1ill. There have been people in this forum that have removed the mufflers to get a louder sound from their Birds. I was waiting and hoping they would respond to your question and tell you how loud the car is now. If you remove your mufflers be sure to do it in a way that you can put them back on in case Johnny Law doesn't like the sound! You can do a Google search for exhaust resonator to get some info. Here is one place. http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Miscella...austtheory.htm
