Supercharger Replacement?

Does anyone have info on replacing superchargers for 1999 (or similar) Grand Prix? I've seen instructions on snout removal and coupler replacement, but I imagine there are others like me who would be very interested in complete supercharger replacement tips, instructions, pictures, etc. Also, info on the part numbers for such replacement parts like the gasket(s) or parts for the fuel system/lines (which I imagine need to be removed), would be great.

Re: Supercharger Replacement?

Got a problem with the Eaton M90? or are you adding a supercharger?

Re: Supercharger Replacement?

Sorry, I should have clarified; I expect that I will eventually need to do something for my existing GTP's factory SC in the future, and so I am attempting to get a head start on collecting additional info to weigh my options. My '99 GTP has 106k miles, and it sounds like I have some coupler rattling. I may decide to go "nerdy" and just replace the entire SC, depending on cost, time, complexity, etc.

Re: Supercharger Replacement?

It is best to leave well enough alone. In other word unless it is broken don't fix it. The Eaton M90 is fairly reliable. Just keep up preventive maintenance service with replacing the supercharger oil. I recommend annually. You could do bare bones maintenance by replacing the coupler with the improved one out since you are getting rattling. Also, you can replace the snout bearings and the seal. Some GTP owners that replaced the supercharger with a new or used-rebuilt have experienced low boost problems compared to original stock for some unexplainable reason.
