Keyless entry problem

Greetings,

My original keyless entry remote stopped working so I replaced the battery and it still didn't work. The contacts under the buttons are worn away and I have two questions to ask.

1) Is there any place online that sells just the rubber gasket/buttons piece.

2) Are the black contacts under the buttons metallic to make contact to the circuit board?

Thanks,

Rich

Re: Keyless entry problem

I'm assuming you followed the re-programming instructions in the owner's amanual already????

Re: Keyless entry problem

The original still works if I use a coin to short the keypad on the remote, that's why the ? on the metallic button.

I did buy a refurbished remote online and I cannot program that one. When I opened it up it was filthy and the replacement rubber keys had no gasket around the case like the original, if I can buy the entire rubber button part I'd replace both.

Now that you mention it, the programming instructions from the replacement doesn't work and I never saw instructions for the 2000 Intrigue online. I used the instructions for other years and I get the three tones to program, but never get the two confirmation tones, I'm assuming the replacement remote is bad. Does 1999 or 2001 programming work on the 2000?
