Angry 2005 T& C having problems with power doors

Hi, been having problems with these doors since I bought it. First the Drivers side passenger doors track broke. Luckily that was while it was still under warranty.

The problem I am having now is, the 2 power passenger doors won't open or close when using the button on the door jam. I have to use either the button on my key or the button in the overhead console or manually close them. I'd like to find out why the buttons on the door jam isn't working anymore.

Also just recently I haven't been able to open the re hatch door unless I use the button on the key or button on overhead console. It won't unlock the door so that I can just open it manually.

As always Thanks for all your help. Ives

Have you tryed removing the IOD fuse in the engine compartment for a few minutes and reintalling? Worth a shoot.

Good Luck

Re: 2005 T& C having problems with power doors

this may seem silly, but I had an 05 caravan, and there's a switch on the overhead console that disables those. My kids used to push those switches all the time, and drive us crazy.

I agree with triplethreattt--most likely cause is the switch on the overhead console turned to off that prevents activation of the doors by rear seat passengers.

i accept paypal! LOL. J/K

Glad I could actually help. I take from this site WAY more than I give back, so anytime I can be on the other side of the fence, I try.

that switch got me on more than one occasion, let me tell you. My kids love pushing buttons in the car.

Red face Re: 2005 T& C having problems with power doors

Yes, I feel the same way about this site. I try to contribute if I can, I have benefited immensely from this site.

I bought this van used and I am still finding options I didn't know I had.

If you didn't live so far I'd buy you a beer.

It was also driving me nuts as to why it wasn't working. I don't have any children to blame.

Again Thanks for the help! Ives
