Hi beams and high blower do not work?

Hi,
I am new to this forum and I did search around and could not find an answer to this but I have a 2006 Silverado HD 4x4 and I cannot figure this out. My high beams do not turn on and my heater blower only works on the first three blower speeds, but when I turn the blower on the highest setting, it turns off completely. I thought this might be a fuse problem, but I checked them all and did not see any blown fuses. I noticed I have a relay fuse labeled for the high beams and same with the blower but I dont know how to check them. If this might be the problem, where can I buy the relay fuses at? Thanks for any help given.

Jason

take out the relay and look at it. if its black or anythin change it. just go to your local parts store and ask for it. if it were the blower relay it wouldnt work at all. id go straight for the resistor

Re: Hi beams and high blower do not work?

First, check that 40 amp blower fuse in underhood fuse block- if good then....

.....I disagree with the above-- if all you have is the lower speeds- then it is the blower motor relay- but fortunately, the repair is the same on this vehicle for any speed problems- the blower relay and the blower resistors are on the same module- the blower motor resistor module located under dash at passenger foot well- remove the hush panel and you'll see the blower motor- the wires that feed the blower motor come from the blower resistor module- plan on about $40 for it.....

For the headlights- try swapping the hi beam relay with the low beam relay- see if problem follows the relay- then replace if it does.....both are in the underhood fuse/relay center...
