fronts brakes followed by other fun issues
I own a 91 civic cx, 1.5L 2 door hatchback and im having an issue with the front driver's side brake caliper. . seems to be seized because i can push the cylinder out to apply brakes but the cylinder wont got back in after, its gotten so bad that now i can't turn the rotor with a crowbar.
ive tried to release the pressure off the calipers by bleeding the lines, and i can push the cylinder back in with a pair of vicegrips. but as soon as i fire the car back up and pump the breaks the rotor jus seizes back again. Im also havin a problem with somthing in the front end, in the steering, when i turn the steering wheel left or right the car makes a loud screech, the noise isnt coming from the rotors or the the wheels because even when the car is parked and i turn the wheel i still get this loud noise. thanks Slatcher |

Re: fronts brakes followed by other fun issues
Sounds like your steering rack needs to be greased, no big deal. the boots probably ripped long ago and its dried out. Also for the calipers, replace them! Good lord man!

Re: fronts brakes followed by other fun issues
Well if you turn your wheel all the way to one side or the other and look under the car, youll see the steering rack sticking out with the tie rod going to the wheel. If the boot is broken you will see what look like gear teeth. Grease that and work it back and forth.
