Exclamation water pump 2.4L

Well heres another ? how do I change the water pump on my 99 olds alero 2.4L. Please be as specific as possible Ive never worked on this style of pump before. If you know of a website that gives free step by step or pics please inform me of that also. Thanx again

Its not a very easy do it yourselfer job. Its driven by the timing chain. It'll take a professional 4 to 7 hours to do.

It involves removing the heat shield which sits towards the back of the engine covering the exhaust manifold and the dropping your exhaust and taking off your exhaust manifold (which should be a 13mm socket but you will have to most likely take the nuts off by hand with a 13mm wrench) it is attached to your timing so it also involved removing the timing chain cover and timing chain itself...advice is when you get to your water pump when it is out to change your thermostat while you are there because it will be much easier doing it while the water pump is out than later on... hope this helps i will keep an eye out for a step-by-step instruction online...
