Mystery Radio Code

Today my 99PA radio cassette quick working. The code the radio showed was E00. I'm using the cassette for my XM Radio. The XM cassette will load as normal but will be returned. The cassette will then do this two more times, then the E00 code will show up.

I've done a search for radio codes but I don't find E00. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Mystery Radio Code

I don't find the code listed in any of my GM FSMs. However, according to my GM sources E00 indicates in an internal error failure related to the cassette portion.

And welcome to AF.

When you purchase a car new from the dealership and if you choose to activate the Theft-Deterrent feature, they set your personal code and give you a plastic card with the code on it. If anyone tampers with it after that, or the battery dies, or if it is disconnected, you must have the original code to make it work! If you don’t have it, you can take it to any GM dealer and pay them 40-80 bucks and they will reset it. If you want save some time & money, try the following procedure, it has worked for me!

Press & hold the 2 & 3 buttons @ the same time for about 10 seconds; a 2 or 3 digit code will appear. Write this number down, then press & hold the am/fm button for about 10 seconds; another code will appear, write this number down. Once you have both numbers call 1-800-537-5140 and enter 202108 (DO NOT enter the division code they ask for) followed by the # or * key, (whatever they tell you) then enter the numbers that you wrote down from your radio followed by the * key. The call will give you a 3 or 4 digit override code. Write this code number down so you have it if you ever need it again. To unlock your radio, enter the override number into your radio following the instructions in your owners manual. (If you get an override code that starts with 0, you drop the 0 when entering the code into your radio).
If you don't have an owners manual, you can try this; press & hold the hour button until the first 2 digits of your code come up, then press & hold the minute button until the last 2 digits show. Then press the am/fm button. This should reset your stereo.
