Trouble Locating VIN

hello, i just picked up what im sure is a rarity its a 3/4 ton Chevy-Pickup, longbed, i mite be off on the year, but i beleave its a 1951. The reason im posting is im having trouble locating the VIN. any help would be greatly appreciated thakns for your time.

Should be a tag on the door pillar or firewall, did you get any paper work with the truck?

ill work on getting the pictures, and there was no paper work with it, i tryed the firewall and there was nothing, the door on the other hand had a serial number that i tryed to use as the VIN but was told its a invalid number.

the plans for it are to restore it as a every day driver.

Older vehicles don't have enough digits in the VIN to use carfax and others if thats what you mean by "invalid".
