1993 E250 No spark.....

Hi guys I have a service van that has been taken out of service & sitting at work since last september. it is a 1993 E250, with the 5.8 engine. Today, I put a charge in the battery & it would not fire. Pulled a couple plugs. They were a bit wet with fuel. I checked for spark, & it had nothing. The van was running great when parked last fall, but does have a pile of miles on it. (218,000) I was thinking maybe I fried something with the battery charger? Initially the battery was completely discharged, & I put the charger in "Start" mode, the first time to see if it would crank. The dome lights were very bright in that mode. Maybe a bit much for the ignition system?

Anyway, I am not too sure what to look at first. I was hoping there was a comon issue with these vans. Or at least a common way to trouble shoot it.

Thanks!

Use a 12 volt test light check for power to the coil positive. Put the test light on the coil negative it should blink if somebody else is cranking the engine.
If it doesn't blink buy a rebuilt distributor or a new pickup it requires a special puller to change this item. If it blinks take the module to Auto Zone or Advanced for a free test.
You can also make sure the relay pulses by holding your finger on it.
