Oil and filter change
I recently purchased an 03 Mazda6 with 2.3 liter engine. I would like to change my own oil but the filter is a cartridge and requires special dealer tool to remove. Is this correct? Has anyone purchased the wrench at Auto zone or Advanced Auto and if so what size wrench. your help is geatly appreciated.

Re: Oil and filter change
It's not a special tool you need really. It's just a hex tool you slap on the end of a 3/8s extension and a ratchet and unscrew the little bolt. The black casing should then easily come off and the little filter will be inside.
It's an easy job. Good luck.
