transmission whining noise
I have a 98 voyager with a 3.0 engine and a 3 speed automatic transmission. It sounds like a bearing or something. The noise is defiantly coming from the transmission. It changes sound when the engine rpm changes. The noise sort of speeds up with the engine. It can be heard in park or while driving. Could this be the pump being overworked or wearing out? Also does anyone know if the 3 speed has a shift control device like the 4 speeds do? I know I have heard other people have had the same whining noise, what is your story?
Please help. Thanks for any information you provide!!!! |

Re: transmission whining noise
I've read accounts of warped flexplate problems creating noises. Not sure if they were on the 3 or the 4 speed tranny.
