What difference does it make when the model come in silver plated body. Don't you just do the same liek prime paint and cover all teh platign up so what does teh plating do??

agree. but if you want to strip the paint...is hell.
Althought Plating models by Tamiya are limited, is only apply to collector, to modelers, this is totally crap. IMO.

I had the same kit and becuz it's hard to find decent Tamiya kits in my local hobby shop I just bought it and treated it like a normal kit (primer + 4-5 coats of paint). Only thing I did was mask off the backlights and side lights on the body so I wouldn't have to paint them X-11 or use bare metal foil.
It's possible that they're not supposed to be painted but they turn out just as good as you paint them imo. Grtz Jan |
