1999 camry headlights

aloha, i just picked up a 1999 camry and noticed that when i start up the car the headlights goes on, when i release the hand brake, (i guess this is the day light run lights), but then i noticed that about 30 seconds all the rest of the lights goes on(tail lights, dash lights). is this normal? any help would be very helpful, mahalo

Re: 1999 camry headlights

Since nobody has responded I'll take a crack at this.. but I'm not really qualified....

Our 03 Corolla did this and so does our 05 Corolla. When the P-brake comes off, on come the daytime running lites. After about 30 seconds, if it's dark enough outside, the 'darkness sensor' on the dash determines that it's dark enough for all lites to be on. But it depends on how you have your headlite switch set.

My 98 Camry doesn't have daytime running lites.
