Pirelli Scrubs

I Have A Series Car That Came With Used 18" Pirelli Slicks, Lots Of Track Rubber And Small Stones In The Rubber. Has Anyone Run These Tires? What Kind Of Life Can Be Expected? My 1st Track Date Is Early May So I Need To Make Some Decisions Thanks

Re: Pirelli Scrubs

I have a Series car too that had the Pirelli's. It is completely normal for the tires to pick up rubber and such as you take a cool down lap and come into the pits. As long as you can see good depth left on the wear dimples, you should be fine. I ran my car hard for two days (8 sessions) with my tires and they look no worse for wear. I was very pleased with the Pirelli tires and intend to use them again. I always like to have a spare set when I go for a weekend or make sure the track support has tires just in case. Anyway, for your question, that is normal as you described - means the tires were up to temperature when they last ran. Assuming your alignment is correct, they will likely last for several more track days! These cars are a blast!
