brakes locking up

95 cavalier, new shoes and wheel cylinders on rear and i had the rotors turned down. the passenger side locks up very easily...any idea whats going on?

i'd check to make sure the bigger brake shoe is on the rear.make sure e-brake is'nt adjusted to much(or sticking) causing improper adjustment.
BTW you said rotors were turned did you mean brake drum??good luck

opps...yea i meant drums were turned. i will check to see if the pads are reversed..i do suspect the e-brake has something to do with it though. if i remember it seemed a little tight. would this cause the locking up when just the regular brakes are applied? if the e-brake is sticking, whats the best way to get it to stop sticking?...thanks

could be dirt if it is ABS......oil, grease.......air in lines

if it is e-brake stuck the only way to fix is replace worn cables ect. or disconnect from brake shoe. try disconnecting to see if thats your problem
BTW only need to disconnect from problem wheel!!!Good Luck

Aren't our E-Brakes Self-Adjusting? I believe what you do is drive in reverse and slowly pull the E-Brake to udjust it properly, that's what my Dad did when he replaced my back brakes..........now everytime my car is driven, the driver rear tire locks up when i even barely hit the brakes, it goes away after a few blocks, any help?

i pulled the drum off this morning and found that the back brake shoe was broken apart...that would explain the major sticking...however it was sticking a little before the shoe broke. i picked up a better set of shoes and i am throwing out those cheap duralast ones from autozone. im also replacing the drums..the new ones are only 20 bucks a piece and replacing the brake springs. i still suspect the e-brake cable though, because there seems to be to much cable in the drum. i notice that the cable is rubbing on the brake adjuster and the spring right where it enters the drum assembly. so im going to have to figure that out. hopefully after replacing everything, im ruling everything out and pointing to the e-brake cable...i would have chosen another route on my caddilac but the cavalier has rally cheap parts. i would have had to re-mortgage my house to do this on my sts. ill let you all know how it works out..thanks
