98+ 3.2 A/C recirc. door?

2001 Rodeo V6 110,000mi.
A/C has always been "full" of freon, air blows fine but air never gets cold just cool. My thought is that the door that allows outside air in is malfunctioning. You do notice a difference when the recirc. switch is activated. So I'm stumped. I have had this problem since I purchased the truck brand new. They gave me the old 20 deg rule. But when it 105 here and the air blowing is 85 that still sucks. I am open to any suggestions though.
How do I find this door so I can inspect it?

Also thank you for your many posts. I recently had the piston on the side of my tranny start to leak. Took it to the dealer and after 4 days got a new transmission(refurb) for free.

Thanks

I now have the same problem, and yes it sucks because of where the problem is.
It's a plugged expansion valve.
I had the (condenser) in front of radiator replaced and some how crud found it's way to that valve, or It also can be blamed on a pre-failing compressor.

The expansion valve is the key component that restricts the flow, and then as it passes through the very small orifice located within the heater box, it then creates the chill factor.

The recirculation setting is one setting I refuse to use that skank air.

I've had mine recharded and sucked dry 3 times in a row to see if the blockage could be sucked free, and no luck.

I have views of the system.

By all means, Good Luck...
