Bad CAM sensor
I had the error code for a bad CAM sensor come up a week ago ... I don't know exactly where it's at. Could the sensor just be dirty? If that's not it the does anyone know the part number to replace it? Also, does the installation of a new one require an allignment tool? I am just trying to avoid a mechanic if this is a project I can do myself. Any help or experience is appreciated. It's on a 98 Eddie Explorer 4.0 SOHC.

Re: Bad CAM sensor
The sycro does tear the cam sensor up and does need to be replaced. It has to be set with a special tool or it will not run right.Luckily you do not have to go to the dealer anymore,Dorman products does sell the syncro and cam sensor coming with the tool.
