Wher is the thermostat housing on Kia 05 Rio?

I replaced the ruptured upper radiator hose on my overheating Rio yesterday. I thought this would be the end of it. Boy was I wrong. It is still overheating and even quicker. Some advice from my dad is to check the thermostat, I might need a new one. I'm pretty illiterate about cars but I'm not afraid to take parts off and put them back on again. I actually like doing it if its not too complicated. But I can't find the thermostat on this car. One pipe come from what looks like, directly out of the engine and leads to my rubber upper radiator hose which attaches to my radiator. I don't see any box or housing assembly for a thermostat. Do you know where it is or what site I can go to to find it? Would appreciate a quick response.
