2001 F-150 5.4L Will not start when outside temperture is cold

When the outside temperture gets below 60 degrees it is hard to start. I have a Ford 2001 F-150 5.4L. Any other time it starts right up. Can you help me with this problem!

I would start by looking at the battery.

The battery is fine turns over strong. I forgot to mention that the theft light is blinking fast when this happens. And remember this happens when outside temperture is cold. When it is warm outside this does not happen, also this only happens first thing in the morning. I live in florida.

I think I would suggest checking fuel pressure.

Possibly--when the engine isn't starting, after cranking - pull a plug and smell it. If you can't smell fuel, then it's more than likely a fuel issue. Not to offend, but have you changed the fuel filter at all?

This particular truck has the "COP" or Coil over Plug for ignition. I highly doubt it's an ignition issue.

I had that problem it was the air intake sensor. Remover it and spray the tip with contact cleaner and gently wipe the black stuff off with a q-tip, be careful its easy to break. if thats not the case high performance spark plugs help greatly. evan if they say they dont need gapped always check. the gap for your truck is .052-.056. before you tear into it, how many cold cranking amps does your battery have and whats your oil weight?
