s10 out-of-tank elec fuel pump?

Can you leave the exsisting, non-working electric fuel pump in the tank and add an electric fuel pump on the frame rail? Do they make a fuel injected high pressure racing pump that could do this?

Adding an external pump will not work, it will not pull fuel through the internal pump. Best to get an AC Delco, original equipment fuel pump and be done.

Get a Delphi pump and the AC Delco pump is made by Delphi if you want to know.Carquest's fuel pumps are now made by Delphi and Bosch, the Bosch pump is junk and the Delphi is the better one.The Delphi and AC Delco pumps are the two top of the line fuel pumps

Re: s10 out-of-tank elec fuel pump?

i dont know about fuel injection, but i have an inline pump on my s10 with a carburated v8 conversion and i suck gas through the stock pump so i dont understand why all those people say it dont work, and they do make high pressure inlines from jegs, which is what i have (regulated down of course), but it will work, just if you use rubber lines, put two clamps so it doesnt leak because of the pressure...

With fuel injection, you use only fuel injection hose only!It is not cheap, about $6.00 a foot and conventional hose will not hold up the fuel pressure of EFI.
