supercharger on a 96 impala ss?

hey i am planning on getting a 1996 impala ss, and i want to race people because you have to admit that is a hell of a fast car. so can any1 tell me if that impala can handle any kind of supercharger? if so how many pounds of boost and what kind of supercharger. if not can i run a procharger on it? thanks
