Jaguar Instrument panel cluster

I have been waiting for an instrument panel cluster for a 1999 Jaguar XK8 since November 1,2007. Jaguar says they have no supplier for this part and are trying to find one. Does this make since to anyone? Has anyone had the same problem? The car is not driveable.

Re: Jaguar Instrument panel cluster

no supplier? i think you might be talking to the wrong person/wrong dealership about this. im not sure how jags work for sure, but many high end cars have programming to prevent their use if it doesnt recognize the dash cluster. mostly to prevent odo tampering/other theft. so a junkyard dash might work and it might not. but keep on jaguar's back about it, and contact a different dealership if needed.

Re: Jaguar Instrument panel cluster

i can find out when i'm at work tomorrow. i spend the best part of the day sourcing parts for high-end cars. it'll be easy to get if you talk to the right people.

it likely will need to be paired/programmed with the ECU and other components, but a main dealer should be able to find one.

PM me you chassis number and i'll find out.
