oil pan

1993 XJ sport 4x2.i think i have a drip coming from my oil pan, and am considering a new gasket. has anyone ever done this one? it looks like it'll come out and go back in without raising the engine. just wanted to know
what i'm in for. thanks -dW

i have a 1996 4wd and i had the oil pan changed last year... i read on several forums that you could sneak the pan out but the guy that did mine had to let the front axle done some to get it out. he said it was a real pain

Easiest way to do it is jack up the front as high as you can get it and remove both front wheels, then disconnect the front swaybar and shocks to allow the axle to drop as far as possible. You should then have enough clearance to drop the pan and slide it out.
