Re: I need help b4 i buy one
if it's a SOHC engine, then you can just slap on a new belt and tensioner pulley (I'd advise a new water pump as well), and you're good to go.
If it's a DOHC, you'll need at least new heads also.

Re: I need help b4 i buy one
The pistons and valves got in a boxing match. At the very least you will need to have the heads rebuilt, probably cheaper to just buy a good used pair. The pistons could possibly be damaged. I have even heard of people saying that has caused spun bearings. I don't think that is too likely though.
Depending on the price it might be worth it. Just remember that you'll be at least two grand into repairs. |

Re: I need help b4 i buy one
Just buy a used motor for $500-700 and drop it in. It will save you the headaches of fixing that engine and you will have a spare short block.

Re: I need help b4 i buy one
There is a huge debate as to what VR4 stands for.
Also there are no VR4 Stealths. The TT Stealths are just Stealth R/T Turbos. The best way to tell is to #1 pop the hood and look for the y pipe off the throttle body or #2 look under the car for a driveshaft going to a rear differential.
