door locks going crazy

It started after I began using the keyless entry. I found the code on the trunk hinge. It seems to work fine but the door locks act up sometimes. They all are trying to lock repeatedly. To stop it I have to hold the door lock button off on the passagers door because the drivers side doesnt work at the switch. If I hold the lock switch for a couple of seconds the locks go faster and if I hold the switch long enough it stops. Then when one of the front doors are opened and close it may do it again. It has stopped for two dfays now. Does this have anything to do with the battery being dissconnected for a couple of days.

??

Nope. I'm guessing the keypad on the outside of the drivers door has some issues.

Did you get a remote yet? If you stop touching the keypad, and only use the remote.. you might be able to prove or disprove my theory.

Keypads in GREAT condition might be hard to come bye. I rub sunblock with SPF 80 on mine

Re: door locks going crazy

I've run into problems with the control modules in the past. The module is in the passenger side kick panel area on the 93. The module controlls some of the interor lighting as well, any problems there? You could unplug the keypad to trouble shoot.

Steve is on to something with the sun block thing. I wonder why his car looks so good? I wish I had the time to keep my rides spotless like the old days. Now days between the mud holes in the driveway, wife and five dogs the cars get filthy.

The Keypad looks great from the outside. I would say as good as new. The interior lights are fine. Im hoping it will go away with warmer weather coming soon.
Is this car supposed to have a remote? Where can I get one?

I got all mine (1995 / 1997) off ebay. The new square style are the most reliable, but I like to use the old peanut style.. their a bit more unique.

If you have "memory" buttons on the drivers door, you'll need to be shopping for memory type remotes. There's memory1 & memory2 remotes, and some have on/off slide switches on the back as well.

With this ebay search you'll most likely see all four types.
I paid less than $10 for all mine.

The remotes all say they are for 95 and up on ebay. Mine is a 93. Did it originally have a remote when it was new?

My apologies, I forgot to verify your model year.. my previous post has nothing to do with 1993..

Thanks Stan
