96 maxima hyper ground kit

I see this all the time and am kinda curios, but not willing to spend 100+ dollars for one.

Think it's hard to create my own?

Has anyone bought /made their own?

First one has to figure out THE disease [if any], then study the remedies. Accessory current flow is limited by the harness, from factory its ability is already very limited, wirings mean costs and thus are absolute bare minimum in all aspects. Some thoughs below.

Restricted current flow:
Over the years there is no known instance about evolution - eg. conductance evolving by itself to become better: here is 'some' work to do... and its not limited to grounding. Only on some issues, wiring thickness is critical.
Harness tuneup: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/14

Electrostatic discharges:
Then there are static discharges; ability of an part to ground can be changed. Where do they arise, how one can zap em: any kind of well attached wire between two bodies in different potentials will conduct, cause potential differences to disappear. Even Christmas decorations may be enough...

Dynamos
All revolving bodies contain some iron/magnetic particles - this means more or less generation of electricity. These bodies create currents to be discharged, in new car and new/clean part/bolt attachments this potential discharge comes 'naturally' without any extra grounding need. However, in used vehicle this may change: my distributor lost contact with engine, this warped the rpm sensor signal ... remedy was cleaning. Adding one wire [any kind] to chassis just ensured problem wont come back. Check the signal on page9.

You can probibly make your own. Find the installation instructions and all. The lenghts of all the wires are listed in the pack. Just get wire, connectors, and crimpers an you can make anything you want. They cost so much money because they use braided wire.

AWG 18 is enough except where currents are calculated in tens of amps like Alt and Starter. Electrons dont know where they run - only oxidation = resistance resist their speed... Where ever you place em, clean surfaces and use contact grease.

As said, cleaning the harness/connectors will do the job. But that needs real work, 16h minimum.
