Engine swap

I got a 1998 chevy metro with 223000k miles, and I want to drop a remanufactured engine in it, I do have some mechanical skills, but never done an engine swap, it is not my main source of transportation, so I want to take my time with this project. any advice on how to go about it. 98 chevy metro 3 cylinder, 5 spd. exchange old engine for remanufacture longblock engine......thanks

What's wrong with the engine you have? You can replace rings, valves on this engine without the work of pulling the engine.

Hi, well the engine that I have is shot, and I don't want to mess with it, for now allthow I will keep it, just want to start out with a new or like new engine.

Buy a service repair manual for your car. http://www.books4cars.com/

They have one for a 98 metro for $60.

If you buy a new engine, be sure it's for a 96 or newer.
