2000 Blazer 4x4 LT help

Just bought car for my daughter and I noticed when i come to a stop it kind idles a bit rough no skip just like a rumble noise. If i give it the littlest bit of gas it will smooth right out. Her other 2000 blazer did the same and never got it fixed car got totaled. Does this sound like a tuneup or some sensor or egr valve might be bad. I know its hard to pin point but just wondering if others have had this problem with little rough idle. Car has plenty of pep with 78k miles.

Thanks

You will need a engine capable scanner to test the egr valve and computer sensors.

At that mileage I would go for a good AC-delco parts tune up.
Clean off carbon in TBI with carb cleaner and plastic tooth brush.
Ckeck fuel pressure and and fuel and air filters.
Check for codes and egr valve operation on a good scanner.

Re: 2000 Blazer 4x4 LT help

Just had engine on a scanner for emissions test here in Massachusetts Monday no codes and passed safety/emission test. Air filter and oil change and serpentine belt changed by dealer i bought car from. I will clean the TBI with carb cleaner and see if that helps. Might just take the EGR off and see if it is carbon clogged. Could i be on the wrong track?
I will also look into a tuneup for the 2000.

Thanks for the suggestions/help

Re: 2000 Blazer 4x4 LT help

Emmision test only check for code and high emmisions levels.

It takes a engine capable scanner to test egr valve operation.
And other sensor readings.
If EGR valve or egr system is bad it usually sets a code.

It will take a fuel pressure gauge to test fuel pressure.

Yes clean TBI and check fuel filter and at that mileage a good set of AC-delco plugs may help it.

Good Luck
