Hi, this is my first post, WOO HOO!!!
Name here is Dan. I have a question about the idle on my car, a '95 LHS. Today I came home from work, and when I parked the car, the idle shot up to around 1350 RPM. Normally the idle is around 900-950 RPM. This is with a warm engine after about a 20 mile ride.It did it one other time, but I didn't think too much of it. Today, I looked under the hood, (but I'm almost a complete moron when it comes to computer stuff , I could actually fix stuff on my '85 Cutlass ), and didn't see anything that I normally don't see. So I revved it a little bit, up to about 2000-2100 RPM, and then the idle settled back down to the normal 900-950. My question to everyone is, what would cause something like this to happen? Should I be concerned about it? I just found it kind of weird, that's all, not much of a big bother or anything. I think I have too much fun with the smilies!!! Thanks in advance, Dan

It could be a vacuum leak. Have you done anything to the car lately?

Nope, not lately. Back in July I had the motor replaced, the timing belt tensioner broke off as I was coming home from work.
That was painful!!! But nothing has been needed lately, and it only did it that one time, maybe I should take a look for some bad vacuum hoses. Thanks a lot!!! Dan
