04 alero oxygen sensor

I need to replace the upstream oxygen sensor (on the engine). Does anyone know where it is located?
It is a 4 cylinder engine

Welcome to AF.

It would help to post what engine you have so members can be accurate in their replies.

Re: 04 alero oxygen sensor

On the 2.2L Ecotec engine the sensor is located on the driver's side of the exhaust manifold. You have to remove the exhaust heat shield to see it and/or to test/replace.

Re: 04 alero oxygen sensor

its really easy to do just take the 10mm bolts off for the heat shield. you a oxygen sensor socket (its only like $8 from autozone just ask for it). unplug the sensor take old one out put new one in. you can either disconnect the battery for 3 hours or just drive it and it will go away.
