Question P0118 Fault Code Issues

I have a 2002 Passat that has a P0118 code and that CEL on all the time.
Replaced the old coolant temp sensor with the new green one & cleared the memory. Light came back on after about 60 miles of driving and has the same P0118 code. Does anyone out there have experience with this code or problems associated with ?? Any help appreciated --

Re: P0118 Fault Code Issues

I googled the DTC and you replaced the correct part. Maybe you got a bad one or the wires are corroded?

Re: P0118 Fault Code Issues

Have 01 Passat 1.8 turbo. changed the sensor and thermastat and light kept coming on. 1 year later the EPS light came on and changed out the crankshaft speed timing sensor $75 at dealer and one hour labor $125 and the EPS light shut off along with the chech engine light and the P0118 code does not come up anymore. My new problem is a low oil pressure light that came on 1 week later
