Question What should be my first model?

I am an extreme Bmw fan, been looking around for an 850 but cant seem to find one yet. Ive seen the Skylines, Integras and a few Rally's but unsure what would you all recommend?

p.s. No Honda Civic,Accord type stuff

I could only find one:

It's made by Revell-Germany (sister company to Revell-Monogram in the U.S.), and I found it here. I've never seen the kit, so I don't know how good it is. But, if it's a car you like, you may be willing to go through the trouble of trying anyway. It looks good in the pic.

If you're new to modeling altogether, read this thread to get an idea of what you're getting into.

Do you know if that was the type of BMW used in that old Chevy Chase movie? Demi Moore starred in the movie, but I can't remember the name of it. It is about that junkyard that blows up at the end of the movie. Dan Akroyd also stars in it.

The BMW in the movie was really cool. I think it would be cool to make a model of it.

I lied: I found two 850i on ebay. Too bad they're in Germany:

The first one? Already? Wow. Have you ever built model kits before?

No that was an old 7 series lowered and with nice old school rims. That car was nuts though.

Then I would advise doing a few practice kits before trying your special model. Go to WalMart and pick up a kit or two at $8 a pop and try out the tricks we talk about here. And feel free to ask questions.

And check out the "Starting out" thread I linked to above for a list of stuff you'll need.

I built the super detailed Revell 750iL when I was 16, and that was awesome!
The boot opened to reveal the tools in a pull down hatch! Great engine too, and wood trim! That one didn't survive though!

Do you know if a car like that was ever produced as a model car?
