electrical...what happens after 12 years?
ok, so as I have found from previous experiance from my civic and other peoples' is that the electrical components can start to crap out, im not sure if this is the wiring or the alternator??
like for example, my deck i disconnect it and main power wire dies out, or when its cold my delay on my wiper blades doesnt work, or sometimes my dash lights take a while to come on, etc. I mean its all these small electrical things that I see happen quite often, so I was just wondering if its the wires or alternator or what??  yea im a wierdo

Yea, the wiring in our cars suck ass, and if you have to change your alternator, please get a new one, dont get a rebuilt one or a j/y one, they will crap out on you!!! And since i had my optima battery, when my rebuilt alt got fuked up, it charged my electrical system at 21 volts and my battery could take it but our 1000 gauge
 wires that honda put in the car couldnt handle it and it made 19 shorts all over my car, so i had to get my car rewired, but my mechanic hooked me up, so dont let that happen to you!!!!!

could that be why my car likes to not start sometimes?? it will just sit there and click. but if i let it sit for 5 min. it will start right up. do you think a new wiring harness will solve this or should i run a thinker gauge wire to my starter from my ignition??

Your car has issues. Time to get a Helm, ameter and get educated on auto electrics.
Regarding alternators that ain't your problem. There is nothing wrong with putting a rebuilt alternator in if it's a quality unit. There's some cheap junk out there so be wary of price.
