gtp vs early 90 corvette

so it was a beautiful day in NC today 70,sunny,nice breeze blowing .i pull out of my driveway and see my old neighbor(real huge a**hole) who hates me in his im gonna say 90 maybe older corvette come by me.so i pull out catch up to him and we turn up the road im getting ready,he floors it i do the same and from about 5mph,i almost ran over him i had to let off then floor it again and ran up to about 65,then he braked.then im still behind him going about 40mph he hits it i floor mine and stick right behind him.he cant leave me at all and i cant pass him then we let off around 75 id say.he turned off i waved just for fun and he honked.it was fun,i think from a dead stop i woulda had him,but it was pretty even from 40 on.i dont think its anything to brag on,or is it good that i kept up and almost ran over him?
