97 caravan driver side axle seal

I am in the process of rebuilding my transmission and all is/was going well until I decided to replace the oil seal on the driver side tripod. I removed the tripod and tried beating out the seal but all I did was destroy the seal. I never saw a seal this stout. It has an inner ring that is about 1/8 inch thick. I think the seal was pressed in. I have been to five car parts stores and all of them give me the wrong seal. My kit has seals but they are too amall in diameter. I can use a diegrinder and remove the old seal, but can't find the new seal anywhere. And then if I find it I am wondering if I can install it or if it will need to be pressed in? I can also get a seal from a dealer if need be. If I get a seal can I freeze in in the freezer and then install it with a piece of wood and a large hammer?
