Hello there,I have a 2000 blazer and the bearing went out in my rearend(oh and its 2wheel drive,7.5 10bolt)Well it wore down the shaft bigtime and i couldnt just buy a new chunk,so i bought a whole rearend figuren i`d just swap the chunk out.I got the chunk out of the new rearend and have been fighting to get it to slide into mine for over 12hours 1day and another 10 today and even tryed just putting it bk into the one it came out of and swapping the whole rearend out.No such luck!cant get it back in the one it came out of either? Is there some sort of trick to pressen these things in?I`ve even greased the hell out of the chases and spacer plates and grooves and tryed usen the mounting brackets to push it in evenly on both sides and no matter what it will not go in or back into the oneit came out of? Plaese any help,i need it,my mom hasnt been able to go to work for 2days becuase of this.I`ve done tons of rearends and fronts and never had one so dang tight as this one before? Will it hurt to just grind a little off the spacer plates? It looks like its only an 16th or so to tight?any help A.S.A.P. i`d greatly appreciate.thanx for this forum and god bless you all.

Re: differential carrier in blazer wont go in,plz help!
I'm thinking you'll get better results to this in the Blazer section rather than the Eclipse section...
Thread moved to Blazer section...

Since no 1`s answered my post and there isnt one post on here about how to reinstall this frkn differential carrier(10bolt,7.5 in my 2000 blazer)And i`ve searched the web over 4hours 2days ago, another 3-4 hours yesturday, and now right at 7hours tonight, not to mention the 12hours i fought this thing one day and another 10hours the next day,and even tryen to reinstall the carrier back into the ousen it came out of,was pointless!
I FINALY AFTER ALL THIS AND THAT CRAP FOUND OUT THE SOLUTION THAT APPARENTLY IS A BIG FRKN SECRET THAT NO1 WANTS TO SHARE,AND GM HIDES ASWELL!I say this becuase of all the hours spent online, all the forums i`ve read and posted on,and not one person has answered me and i havent found one listing on this rearend and how to reinstall the carrier, whitch i find is b.s.,when everything else-from total idiot questions and answers to the skilled things are posted everywhere! HERES THE ANSWER NO1 SEEMS TO KNOW!! YOU NEED A FRKN TOOL THATS A CASE SPREADER FRO THE REAREND HOUSEN TO INSTALL THIS SIMPLE PROCEDURE!AND LIKE THE CAMSHAFT BEARING TOOL I NEED FOR A PONTIAC MONTANA!ITS ALSO UNRENTABLE!Another gm procedure and product requieren you to take to a shop and pay out the @$$ 2 have done! Well i got a good picture of this stupid tool and procedure and have roughly built my own in less then 30mins,usen big industrial poll clamps,or whatever there called?taken pics on this so i can post this hidden/unspoken procedure on here. anyone that knows otherwise on how to do this?I`m all ears and wish i am wrong and there is another way of doin this?but no1`s listed a how to on this deal, anywhere on the web that i have found?be back shortley and let y`all know if this works?

Re: differential carrier in blazer wont go in,plz help!
If it is a preloaded case then the spreader is the best tool to use. All shims should also be figured to get correct contact patch. It is (somewhat to very) time consuming with this style of case since the carrier can be moved and the pinion can also be moved.
