'95 5.0l mustang idle problems
can anyone help me. got a '95 mustang with a real bad idle problem. Found the TPS had a broken wire on the signal return. Fixed that and still idles bad. The list currently stands at EGR is operating at idle, Bank 1 O2 sensor failed to lean while Bank 2 failed to rich. it idles fairly well while in open loop but the second it goes to closed loop it surges and if it cant switch to open loop it will stall out. Does anyone have any other ideas 'cause i am fresh out.

Re: '95 5.0l mustang idle problems
replaced MAF with known good MAF no change
for what i need the car for, dont really need the O2's. Open loop will do, just never seen one fail lean and one fail rich. that part has me stumped. are there any other idea's as to what might be wrong |

Re: '95 5.0l mustang idle problems
found two other problems . IAC wire broken so soldered and heat shrinked in a new connector, primary ignition wire off coil and started arcing so tightend it. Tested the pcm as per ford procedure and it is not fried. wont idle with the spout on or off. got a code that said there was a short in the fuel tank on the heated part of the oxygen circut. Back probed it to the engine sensor wiring loom and left it there for the day. I am not really looking forward to checking the entire engin harness, anything else you can think of?

Re: '95 5.0l mustang idle problems
took off the intake and found the #5 injector wires in a butt connector were bad. soldered in in new wires and soldered in a new wire to the crank sensor and it seemed to fix a majority of the problems. now it is misfiring. i just think it needs to relearn and be timed to take care of that

Re: '95 5.0l mustang idle problems
Hi! I was wondering if you ever actually fixed your idle problem. I have a 95 Mustang as well 5.0 and shes tempermental. She doesnt want to idle and will just die as soon as i push the clutch in. Happens more when its humid out. Sometimes she will catch her self shoot up to 1,000 then idle right or she will just die or she will idle at 500 and be stuggling to stay on. Im So frusterated and i just dont know what to do. any advic???
