Re: whats the backspace on T/A and camaro rims?

The stock offset on the 93-02 wheels is +56mm. I'm not sure if you meant to say the wheel has a 6.5in offset. Because that would equal 165.1mm (our offset of calculated in mm btw). Then there's the question of whether that is a positive or negaitve offset. My first thoughts, no way that would ever work if it is truly 6.5in.

Here is a list that may help you:

To explain.. Say you want a 7 inch wheel up front, you would need one that has the offset of +35mm to +40mm, and you can fit the sizes 215, 225, 235 on it. Hope this helps.

Re: whats the backspace on T/A and camaro rims?

backspace is simply the space from the back edge of the wheel to the surface where it mounts.
ideally, it should stay close to the same.
say that the stock wheel is 8" wide with 4" backspace.
that puts the wheel mount right in the middle.
if you go to a 8.5" wheel, a 4-4.25" backspace would work.
you wouldnt want to go lower than 4" though, or your wheels will stick out a lot.

common practice on the rear is to use as much backspace as you need to keep your wheels flush with the fenders.

on the front, you need to make sure that you can clear all the steering components

Would you happen to have a similar chart for a 1979 Firebird?
