96 ex accord distributer problem
I`ve replaced my distibuter twice . my car has 113,000 miles on it. Both are oem. The problem is that sparks keep arching out of the cap. The dealer said that it needed a shield that goes into cap, but there is no sheild in the new one. I heard a recall on the v6 with problem. Can anyone help me

Re: 96 ex accord distributer problem
honda distributors have a pretty high failure rate. I'd say two in 113K miles isn't all that surprising
There's usually a little plastic shield that goes just under the rotor. I would assume that it would come with an OE distributor. If Honda can't get you one, you could go to your local junk yard and probably find one I doubt it will make much difference though.
