95 Camaro trans problems

I have a 95 Z28. It only has 96k miles on it. This morning I tried to pull out of the driveway but when I put it reverse it moves forward. It is the same thing for nuetral. If I shut the car off in nuetral it will disengage and roll backwards like it is supposed to. I also noticed in park it will try to move forward but wont and if you give it gas in Park it acts like you are trying to move forward with the E brake on (no its not on). When doing this it will not go pass 2000 rpms. I havent had any prior problems with the transmission on this car. All other gears work fine it shifts fine from 1 thru 4th and I can manually shift just fine as well. Any ideas what it could be?

thx

Re: 95 Camaro trans problems

It sounds like the linkage is messed up. Go under the car and look for any loose cables or anything not looking right.

I'm with cuda, might as well just replace the cable, it's not expensive.
