Just bought a 83 olds cutlass supreme with a clean rebuilt 455 out of a olds tornado. Interior is mint, Needs rust fixed and new paint job. It does have a sunroof and a posi rear end. Paid 1300 is that a good deal? thanks

Sounds like a good price from what you described. Engine run great? How bad is the rust? I know on these vehicles from that era , rust was common on the bottoms of the doors and front and rear quarter panels, along with the rear frame behind the rear tires. If the rust has gotten into the frame that can be an expensive fix. Good luck with your car!

Rust is bad only on bottom of front and rear panels. Floorboards are solid as a rock. Didnt look at the frame too well but i will. Everyone is saying dont do it because of the price of gas. Man you only live once, who gives a sht about the gas price. This 455 is a beast. and worst case situation i can make a few bucks on it. thanks for the 1 reply...lol

Gas can be a consideration, but if you can afford it then go ahead. Look at all these yo-yo's driving around the interstates in their monstrous SUVs that are notorious for low gas mileage doing 75+ mph, even furthering their decline in gas mileage. People complain all the time about the price of gas , but I've yet to see any of them change their habits because of it.
