Red face Passport runs lean

I have a 1994 3.2 passport, 171,145 miles , Auto Trans,
The problem I am having is that after I start the engine and drive for perhaps a mile the engine seems to go lean and I cannot keep it running. At idle it is great but as soon as I try to give it ANY gas it will just act like it isn't getting any gas. I have changed the fuel pump, filter, manifold atmoshperic pressure switch(used), throttle position sensor (used), idle sensor, ECM (used 2 of them actually). If I spray starting fluid into the air cleaner before stepping on the gas pedel it will work fine but as soon as it is used up it will start doing the same thing again. I was going to work the other day and got approximatlly 8 blocks from the house and it died, a friend happened by and gave me a push off the main street, I cranked on it for awhile, got it going but the Check Trans light came on and it went into limp mode, I got it home that way going 5 MPH. I get no CEL light and usually no Trans light either. I have changed out to new the coil pack and the ignition module when working on a previous problem also.
Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Bob K.

Re: Passport runs lean

Sounds like what happened to mine a while back. Never did pinpoint the problem except that I think it might have been a tank of really bad gasoline. Once the gas that was in there was gone and replaced, it slowly got back to normal. Was the oddest thing.

Mine is a 94 3.2L also.

Re: Passport runs lean

I have heard that bad gas does strange things, I guess I can pull the gas line off and pump the tank dry and refill it to see what happens but I would think that the engine would run bad all the time not just after 5 minutes or so.
AS far as the alternator I am getting approx. 14.5 volts at the battery and it shows what I would consider the same on the dash gauge.
I will probably try the gas tomorrow or the next day as I cannot get under the truck right now as we have a whole Sh*t load of snow here, I must have had 4 feet drifts against the side of the truck the other day, it is melting now so I can try soon.
I will try checking the battery with a carbon pile load tester tomorrow.
Thanks for the answers atleast it gives me somewhere to go for look now.

Re: Passport runs lean

I wonder if you have a fuel pressure regulator?
